Laura Glaess |
Austin, TX
|
Laura started dancing in 2001 in San Antonio. It wasn’t a very large scene, and her teachers hadn’t been dancing very long, but she quickly came to love lindy hop, the music, the history and everything involved.
Now Laura travels the world teaching, competing, performing and learning. She is a passionate believer in dancing with swing, with rhythm, and with presence. She is madly in love with jazz music and movement and strives to convey that love to everyone she encounters. Hailing from Austin, Texas, Laura is also an active participant in her home community; co owning a teaching company, The Lindy Project, with Mike Roberts, participating in the Austin Swing Syndicate board, the Austin Lindy Exchange board, organizing community events, and any number of things to keep Austin one of the best scenes around.

Kemper Talley |
Knoxville, TN
|
Kemper’s passion for lindy hop and other jazz era dances can only be described as an obsession, and he is just as passionate about the music and history surrounding those dances. Kemper continues to travel the country to grow and learn from other instructors because he believes one should never stop being a student. While his teaching focuses on rhythm and expression, he believes the ultimate purpose of social dancing is to have fun. Kemper also loves the competitive aspect of dance, having made finals and placing in several competitions, but his favorite dances are always social.
If you ever want to geek out about a clip, talk about the history of the dance (especially the original Savoy dancers), or the music; he’d love to chat! Kemper and Aliceann are the founders of The Vintage Rhythm Room in Knoxville, TN. |

Nathan & Sally Clinebelle
Nathan loves teaching people to dance. To him it just makes sense that if you love something, you want to help other people love it too. He started dancing in 2008 and two months later, started teaching people what he was learning. He hasn’t stopped teaching since. Having taught all across the Southeast and with the Lindy Project in Austin, TX, Nathan never gets tired of watching excitement shoot across someone’s face when something suddenly clicks. He hopes that at the end of class you’ll be inspired to try new things and add a little bit more of yourself to every dance.
Sally loves to dance and she loves people. Those two things are extremely obvious when she’s teaching. She started dancing with her mom in the kitchen when she was little and discovered Lindy Hop while in college. She’s been teaching regularly since 2008. Whether it’s helping someone one-on-one, or working with a large class, her excitement and enthusiasm for the dance and for her students is infectious.
